ABOUT NEWTON PRESS

Newton Press is a family run general printing business founded by Syd Howarth in 1963 – professional solutions to any print enquiries was the foundation of our business and continues to be our ethos today. From business cards, to signage to promotional goods there is no job we can’t solve, our expertese will help you get the best solution possible.

Our print services cover a wide range of areas including small format printing (leaflets, booklets, NCR pads, diaries), to large format (aluminium and foam boards, posters, plan) to labels (vinyl, paper, and much ore) to promotional goods (notebooks, pens, bottles, mugs) – with decades of experience no job is impossible.

NEWTON PRESS BEGINS

Born out of the back room of a bakers in 1963, repairing books, bibles and ledgers. This is the humble beginnings of a three generation family business.

EXPANSION INTO GREENWELL ROAD

EXPANSION INTO GREENWELL ROAD

hornHaving taken a foothold in the local community, and with needing bigger premsis for better machines, we moved out of the bakery and into Greenwell Road. We became traiditional printers and took over the Newtonian. Here we expanded our traditional letterpress printing, which we still offer to this day!

MOVING TO THE AYCLIFFE ANGELS

Soon after this Newton Press expanded into one of the historic Aycliffe Angels WW2 minition factory. Here The Press remained for decades, servicing local business and growing into an integral part of the community.

THE NEWTONIAN BECOMES NEWTON NEWS

The rebranding of the Newtionian to The Newton News, follows a change in direction for the paper as more of a helard for local events, community action and all things Newton Aycliffe! The rebranding came with a change to colour print and a more newspaper style.

NEWTON PRESS MOVES ON UP

Aside from the free local news paper, Newton Press has been hard at work growing in a key player in the local economy. This resulted in a new residence at the Blue Bridge Centre in 2015, following significant growth in the supply of printed goods to companies domestically and internationally. Despite the increase in size, service and quality come above everything else.

As an essential service during Covid-19 Newton Press sayed open, providing essential services to hospitals, care homes and other essential businesses.
